1. A in the direction of rotation, the preceding interpole should have the same polarity as the following main pole
2. B in the direction of rotation, the preceding interpole should have the opposite polarity as the following main pole
3. C in the direction of rotation, the following interpole should have the same polarity as the preceding main pole
4. D the polarities of the interpoles 180 degrees opposite one another should be the same, the actual polarities compared to that of the main poles does not matter
