Frequently Asked Questions

Study Mode is the default way to study questions. As you work through a topic, it keeps track of your score and time.
When enabled, Answers-Only Mode lets you browse the question bank showing only the correct answer for each question.
You get up to two hints per question. Each time you use a hint, one incorrect answer choice is highlighted, narrowing down your options.
From your account dashboard, choose the option to generate an exam, name it, and select a topic. The system randomly selects questions from the question bank to build your exam.
You must answer every question in the exam. Once you've completed it, your results are displayed.
First, register an account. While studying, use the hide option on any question. Hidden questions no longer appear while you study anywhere on the site.
You can manage your hidden questions from your account dashboard. You'll see each hidden question, the date it was hidden, and an option to unhide it.
Many questions include discussion from mariners who studied them over the years, often explaining why an answer is correct. New commenting is currently closed; if you spot an issue with a question, use the report option on the question page.
Members get unlimited graded answers across every question in their track, unlimited practice exam generation including timed mode, and full progress tracking with missed, starred, and hidden question review. See the pricing page for current plans.
Memberships are recurring subscriptions billed securely through Stripe. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and you can cancel anytime from the billing portal in your account, no phone calls or emails required. See pricing for current plans.
