1. A Listen to each station's voice announcement and determine which channel(s) will be monitored.
2. B Listen to each station's "free signals" and call the station generating the loudest marker.
3. C Listen to each station's MSI broadcast to determine which public correspondence station to contact.
4. D Listen to the U.S. Coast Guard's traffic list to determine which Coast Guard station will handle commercial traffic.
