Engine 2014: General Subjects

1. A A pitch indicator is to be fitted on the navigation bridge  for vessels 400 gross tons and above.
2. B Independent remote control of pitch is to be provided at or near the oil distribution box. Tests of its operation are to be performed in the presence of the Surveyor.
3. C After installation in the vessel, the complete piping system is to be subjected to a hydrostatic test equal to 1.25 times the design pressure.
4. D The arrangement of piping is to be such that a single failure in one part of the piping or pump unit will not impair the integrity of the remaining parts of the system.
