1. A shut down the compressor at once and then close the suction and discharge valves
2. B pump the system down and then isolate the leak by closing the suction and discharge valves
3. C close the suction valve, pump the compressor down, then shut down the compressor
4. D tighten the shaft seal packing to reduce leakage, slow the compressor, and operate the expansion valves by hand until repairs can be made
