1. A The compartment must have an opening at the overhead allowing water to enter from the top.
2. B The compartment must have an opening at the overhead allowing air to escape in addition to having a source of flooding.
3. C The compartment must have an opening at the bottom deck allowing water to enter from the bottom.
4. D The compartment must have an opening at any of the vertical bulkheads allowing water to enter from one or more sides.
