Engine: Motor Plants and Auxiliary Boilers

1. A Shut down the engine and allow the engine to cool. With a rag, very slowly remove the pressure cap to relieve the system pressure With the cap removed, check the coolant level.
2. B Allow the engine to continue to run with a normal load. With a rag, very slowly remove the pressure cap to relieve the system pressure. With the cap removed, check the coolant level.
3. C Allow the engine to continue to run, but with the load removed. With a rag, very rapidly remove the pressure cap to relieve the system pressure. With the cap removed, check the coolant level.
4. D Shut down the engine. With a rag, very rapidly remove the pressure cap to relieve the system pressure. With the cap removed, check the coolant level.
