1. A The current flow direction in each series-field coil is in the opposite direction as the current flow direction in its corresponding shunt-field coil, in which case the field fluxes are additive.
2. B The current flow direction in each series-field coil is in the opposite direction as the current flow direction in its corresponding shunt-field coil, in which case the field fluxes are subtractive.
3. C The current flow direction in each series-field coil is in the same direction as the current flow direction in its corresponding shunt-field coil, in which case the field fluxes are subtractive.
4. D The current flow direction in each series-field coil is in the same direction as the current flow direction in its corresponding shunt-field coil, in which case the field fluxes are additive.
