Engine: General Subjects

1. A The draft loss interlock switch must be tested to insure that a safety shutdown occurs when there is insufficient draft to support combustion. There is no requirement to test the draft loss interlock switch at boiler startup.
2. B The draft loss interlock switch must be tested to insure that boiler startup is prevented when there is insufficient draft to support combustion. There is no requirement to test the draft loss interlock switch for boiler safety shutdown.
3. C The draft loss interlock switch must be tested to insure that a safety shutdown occurs and a boiler startup is prevented when there is insufficient draft to support combustion.
4. D Either the draft loss interlock switch must be tested to insure that a safety shutdown occurs or boiler startup is prevented when there is insufficient draft to support combustion. There is no requirement to perform both tests.
