This one is right out of Rule 21 which says sidelights show "an unbroken light over an arc of the horizon of 112.5 degrees and so fixed as to show the light from right ahead to 22.5 degrees abaft the beam on its respective side". So, in other words, from straight ahead, through the beam which is 90 degrees, then through an additional 22.5 degrees abaft the beam. So, 90 degrees plus 22.5 degrees is a total arc of visibility of 112.5 degrees.
