This is a very vague question. Recommend the answers be more specific as the list of distress signals is.

It would seem that this question violates the old adage that “the correct answer is the answer that ALWAYS appliesâ€. Sound signals MAY be a distress signal (continuous fog signal, or SOS, but not RV or maneuvering signals)). Smoke signals MAY be a distress signal (if orange smoke, but no other color). Red flares are ALWAYS a distress signal. I guess you have to just push the “I believe†button on this one.
