Can someone explain what the lights are depicting?
Tiatia81, you are seeing a the port side of a vessel over 50 meters; port side light, two masthead lights, the aft being higher than the forward. Best guess (which is irrelevant to answering the question) would be a shallow port angle on the bow. The fact that the vessel is to port, displaying her port side light, means that a risk of collision does not exist....stand on.
How can Tiatia81 be taking this test, having adequate sea time, and not know what these lights mean?
In retrospect it's easy to say that GOLIVI. As for me if I see it I'm stopping/slowing engines and either easing to starboard or staying put for a moment. Don't like the angle of the masthead lights. suit yourselves.
