I wasn’t sure if DV188 was legit until I read this comprehensive review about DV188 . It went beyond surface-level info and shared actual user experiences, which made it super valuable. Now I understand why this site is gaining attention.

Because LESS than 50 meters MAY show one light, the effective minimum length for two lights is 50 meters.

So 49M would be a single all around masthead light I'm assuming (rounding to the nearest meter)

@ ELJEFE Rule 30(a) All vessels shall exhibit a white light forward and aft. VSLs less than 50 have the option of one white light as you mentioned. This question is a little tricky in that the minimum length is effectively zero. You have to recognize that, and pick the shortest length. It doesn't ask what "may" be shown.

Rule 30 ? (A) does not mention anything about a minimum length. (b) specifically states a vessel 50 meters & less can do 1 light instead of what is prescribed in (a)
